Admissions Counselor – University of Jamestown
Position Title: Admissions Counselor
Location: Jamestown, ND
Employment Type: Full-time, 12-month staff position

The University of Jamestown Office of Admissions is seeking a full-time Admissions Counselor to start no later than August 24, 2026. This Counselor will oversee Early Recruitment, focusing on high school sophomores and juniors. This person will not have a traditional travel territory but may be asked to fill in periodically for travel needs. In addition to communicating with and marketing towards high school underclassmen, this Counselor will be relied upon for on-campus visits of various recruits. They will also help to coordinate Admissions-based Social Media outlets.

Key Responsibilities:
• Recruitment: Actively recruit prospective students through high school visits, college fairs, virtual events, and campus tours.
• Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with prospective students, families, high school counselors, and community organizations to promote the University of Jamestown.
• Outreach and Communication: Respond to inquiries via phone, email, paper mailing, and social media, providing accurate information about academic programs, financial aid, and campus life. This includes taking point on the design and oversight of focused communication pieces for high school sophomores and juniors.
• Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing on-campus and virtual recruitment events, such as open houses, admitted student days, and information sessions.
• Data Management: Maintain accurate records of prospective student interactions and application statuses.
• Social Media Oversight: Oversee admissions-based social media in coordination with the department’s graduate assistant.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the admissions team, financial aid office, and academic departments to ensure a seamless enrollment process.
• Travel: 10% or less to fill in for other Counselor’s as the need arises.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required
Experience: Application and financial aid knowledge is preferred; recent graduates with relevant internship or student leadership experience are encouraged to apply.
Skills:
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
