- Campus Safety (crime prevention and education, Clery compliance)
- Residential Life & Housing (on-campus residents, RAs, community standards, housing operations)
- Emergency Preparedness & Risk Management (crisis response, policy management, knowledge of Title IX processes)

Key Responsibilities
- Manage Residence Life to include:
- Manage campus residential facilities and occupancy.
- Hire, train, and supervise staff to include Associate Director, Graduate Assistant, Assistant Resident Director, Resident Directors, and Resident Assistants.
- Manage Student Code of Conduct and judicial processes.
- Oversee staff development and implementation of social, educational, cultural, service, and recreational programming.
- Manage departmental budget.
- Maintains the safety and well-being of residential students by organizing health and safety inspections and by conducting fire and tornado drills.
- Respond to individual concerns of parents, students, and interested parties in relation to residential housing contracts and assignments.
- Manage emergency protocol response for residence hall staff and provide on-call support as needed.
- Assist and mentor students on an individual and group basis regarding personal, academic, and housing-related concerns, including roommate conflicts.
- Manage Public Safety to include:
- Oversee public safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Analyze and interpret federal, state and local laws related to Higher Education safety (Clery Act, Violence Against Women Act, etc.).
- Manages the University’s Clery Act compliance program, including the development of policies and procedures and tracking corrective actions to completion.
- Prepares, publishes, and distributes federally regulated reports including the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report and the Biennial Review.
- Facilitate annual training for Campus Security Authorities on responsibilities under the Clery Act.
- Manage the University’s Emergency Preparedness Plan.
- Manage, in collaboration with the Vice President, the Emergency Notification and Timely Warning processes
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of college staff, faculty, and students.
- Proficient with smart technology, computers, multimedia and modern education technology.
- Knowledge of:
- Learning theory and student characteristics for leadership development.
- Principles and practices of event and risk management, principles of student discipline, legal aspects of higher education, team development strategies.
- Ability to:
- Plan, administer and supervise a wide variety of programs and staff including student personnel.
- Exercise independent judgment.
- Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.
- Work in an atmosphere of collegial decision-making; demonstrate consensus-building skills.
- Apply sound leadership and management techniques.
- Prepare and administer budgets.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, faculty, students and the public.
- Supervise, stimulate and coordinate the operation of various activities; listen to and record students’ desires accurately and effectively; assist students and faculty involved in a variety of co-curricular activities.
- Analyze situations and make decisions on procedural matters without immediate supervision.
- Provide coaching and mentoring in student leadership and development.
